Here we have Mikes report for the Haltonian of the Reunion of the 82nd Entry 2022.
Thirteen members of the 82nd Entry, RAF Halton and their ladies, whom as always, grace such occasions,
assembled at the Caley Hall Hotel, Old Hunstanton, Norfolk, on 17th & 18th May 2022, for our annual
reunion, this being the 34th time we have gathered. Member numbers were unfortunately reduced this time
around as time takes its toll!! Most arrived on Tuesday 17th for a two-day period, but some remained for a
longer stay. The weather was great, being warm and balmy for the most part. As such, some of us enjoyed
visiting local places of interest and exploring and walking the long sandy North Norfolk beaches along
with other activities, when not exchanging pleasantries on the sunny patio.
On Tuesday evening we enjoyed a hot buffet with several menu choices and desserts. The formal dinner on
Wednesday evening was a dining experience in itself with really excellent, enjoyable and well-presented three
course meals. A toast was proposed to “The 82nd Entry and to absent friends”. The annual raffle raised
£130.00 to entry funds as a result of a collection of generously contributed prizes from members. As one might
expect, many historic experiences (war stories) were exchanged along with a few beers and glasses of wine!
Will we ever tire of hearing such tales? I am sure that the ladies have heard them so often they now know
when one is exaggerating!
As a result of the annual general meeting, the unanimous decision was that
we return to Caley Hall again. So, I guess that all must have enjoyed the
whole experience. The appointed date for 2023 is 16/17th May. Most
dispersed and said their farewells on Thursday morning after breakfast,
until some will meet again at the Main Halton reunion on 6 August. Going
forward to 2023, in an endeavour to aid any whom no longer wish to drive,
if folk are able to arrive at Kings Lynn or Norwich mainline rail stations,
we will make arrangements to collect them and to transfer to the hotel. Full

So, to you all, take care, stay safe, it was a pleasure to see you all and we
look forward to meeting again in May 2023.
